Carragher set to become Sky Sports pundit

Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has reportedly been offered a deal from Sky Sports to become a TV pundit for the English Premier League.  The thirty-five-year-old announced he will retire at the end of the season , and sources close to Carragher say that many major TV networks have approach him, along with Sky Sports.  Jamie is reportedly leaning towards Sky, and the deal would pair him along side former Manchester United defender Gary Neville. Both parties want to complete the deal well before the start of the 2014/2015 Premier League season, and if Carragher is a hit, there could be the possibility of him announcing at the 2014 World Cup.

“Sky think he will be absolutely perfect and are most excited about teaming him up with Gary Neville,” a TV source said.  “They were great rivals and are sure to have some brilliant banter on screen.”

Carragher has already got a taste for punditry, and announced for ITV during the 2012 European Championships because he was not picked for the England squad.

Carragher to retire at the end of the season

Long serving Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has announced that he will retire at the end of the of the 2012/2013 season.  The thirty five year old made his senior debut for Liverpool in January 1997, after going through Liverpool’s youth system.  He has made 723 appearances for the club, second only behind Ian Callaghan.  During his time with the club he has won multiple honors including the Champions League, and two FA Cups.  The centre-back has played with Liverpool since the age of nine, and has supported the club his whole life.
