MOTD- Bradford City 0-5 Swansea City

The 2012/2013 Capital One Cup has come to a close with Swansea pounding Bradford 5-0 in the final. Swansea started the match lively, and won a few corners in the opening minutes but their first big chance had to wait for the fourteenth minute when Ben Davies latched on to a cross and his header went just wide of the post. But just seconds later Swansea opened the scoring when Bradford goalkeeper Matt Duke parried a Michu shot to his left, and Nathan Dyer latched on to the loose ball and powered his shot into the open net. After the goal Swansea started to completely dominate, and doubled their lead in the fortieth minute when Michu latched onto a Pablo Hernandez through ball. He turned with the ball, and curled a shot through the legs of a Bradford defender and into the back of the net. Swansea dictated possession for the rest of the half, and after one minute of added time the first half ended 2-0.

Bradford started the second half more lively than the ever played in the first, but their run of good play was short lived and stopped when Swansea grabbed a third goal only two minutes into the second half. They scored when Nathan Dyer played Michu the ball at the edge of the box, but Michu brilliantly let it run through his legs to Wayne Routledge who played an onside Dyer in on the right side of the box. Dyer got the ball, cut it back across his body, and beautifully curled it into the top left corner of the net.

Swansea kept on getting chance after chance, and finally grabbed a fourth goal in the fifty-ninth minute when Jonathan De Guzman was brought down inside the Bradford penalty area by Bradford goalkeeper Matt Duke. Duke was given a straight red card, and after arguing with Dyer about who would take the penalty, De Guzman coolly slotted the ball into the bottom left corner of the net. After the goal Swansea settled down and kept on dominating possession, and scored a fifth goal in the ninety-second minute when De Guzman kicked a cross into the back of the net to make the scoreline 5-0. With the Cup clinched Swansea let Bradford attack them in the final minutes of the match, and the scoreline ended 5-0 Swansea.
