Beckham makes PSG debut

David Beckham has made his long awaited Paris Saint-Germain debut after moving to the French club in January.  He only came on as a substitute in the seventy-sixth minute in Saint-Germain’s 2-0 win over Marseille, but made a telling contribution to the match when he crossed the ball into the box for Zlatan Ibrahimovic to tap in Saint-Germain’s second goal of the match in the ninety-second minute.

The Englishman moved to Paris Saint-Germain on deadline day of the 2013 January transfer window from Los Angeles Galaxy, and is reportedly earning £150,000 a week but has said he will donate all his wages to a Paris children’s charity.  He has been training with them since his move, but his appearance against Marseille was his first competitive match for the club.

  1. I was skeptical about Beckham at this age, but I saw this match and his contribution was positive. If he’s OK with playing 20min as an impact sub, then this could possibly work. PSG might be a dark horse for the Champions League this year – especially is Barcelona and Real Madrid both exit.
