MOTD preview- England vs Brazil

This international friendly is set to be a good one, with Ashley Cole set to earn his 100th cap for England. The last time the two nations met, was in a friendly on November 19, 2009 where Brazil beat England 1-0 in Qatar. Brazil have dominated this fixture since 1990, when England last beat them. But that statistic doesn’t mean that the game will be a walk in the park though, and Brazil will have to work to win the game. The biggest news surrounding the game though, is that defender Ashley Cole will earn his 100th cap for England, after England manager Roy Hodgson announced that the Chelsea player would be starting. Cole is going to be seventh player to reach that mark for England, behind Peter Shilton, David Beckham, Bobby Moore, Bobby Charlton, Billy Wright, and Steven Gerrard. Anyhow, the game is sure to be a good one, so look out for my halftime and post match review, right here on Football Every Day!

  1. The friendlies today are unusually good. Besides England v Brazil, there is Netherlands v Italy, France v Germany and Spain v Uruguay. You could make a case for those being 8 of the 9 best teams in the world.
